Majority of Nuclear Industry Selects WorkForce Software Employee Fatigue Management Solution

Over Forty Nuclear Industry Leaders Attend Recent Nuclear Customer Advisory Council in Detroit

Livonia, Mich., December 22, 2008 - WorkForce Software, Inc., a leader in workforce management solutions, announces its new EmpCenter Fatigue Management solution has already been selected by 58% of the utilities companies that operate nuclear power reactor sites. The solution manages compliance with new United States Nuclear Regulatory Commission’s (NRC) requirements, which are designed to provide reasonable assurance of industrial and nuclear safety by managing the “fitness for duty” of employees.

NRC regulation 10 CFR 26 is a comprehensive set of rules that defines limits for scheduling work hours, break constraints, periodic employee assessments, and annual reporting requirements for key employee positions, including those in operations, chemistry, safety, and security.

The WorkForce Fatigue Management solution leverages EmpCenter’s sophisticated rules engine, so it is able to manage complex NRC requirements without custom programming. Companion modules to Fatigue Management include EmpCenter Time and Attendance, which manages complex pay rules, leave accruals, and other attendance policies; and EmpCenter Advanced Scheduler, which helps managers create optimized employee schedules, and fill vacant positions that result from unplanned absences.

As a working member of the Nuclear Energy Institute and an advocate for nuclear industry safety, WorkForce Software has formed a Nuclear Customer Advisory Council (NCAC) with its nuclear industry customer organizations. During a recent conference in Detroit, Michigan, on December 3-4, over 40 leaders from nuclear power reactor sites gathered to discuss the NRC 10 CFR 26 regulations and the EmpCenter Fatigue Management solution. These advisory meetings help shape the roadmap for continued enhancements to EmpCenter Fatigue Management.

Another NCAC meeting is scheduled for January 2009 in Phoenix, Arizona where the nuclear industry and WorkForce will meet to discuss the implementation of EmpCenter Fatigue Management and EmpCenter Advanced Scheduler.

“We’re proud to support the Fatigue Management efforts of the nuclear industry and are committed to its success,“ said Kevin Choksi, president and CEO of WorkForce Software. “We are also excited to have more than 40 distinguished members from 14 different nuclear power customers join our Nuclear Advisory Council and provide us guidance and input on their key needs.
