EmpCenter is an employee interaction manager that collects and manages time and attendance information; calculates and stores accrued time balances; distributes hours worked among jobs, customers or departments; and provides managers and supervisors with an easy-to-use dashboard for approving and tracking those interactions.  EmpCenter is composed of Time and Attendance, Activity Based Costing, Accrual & Absence Manager, Multiple Assignments, Attendance Point Tracking & Alert Manager, and Scheduling.

 Executive Team

Kevin Choksi, founder, president and CEO
As founder, president, and chief executive officer of WorkForce Software, Mr. Choksi is responsible for product strategy, strategic direction and operational decision-making.  Mr. Choksi has more than 10 years of management experience in the time and attendance technology and software development industry.  He has designed, implemented, and supported PC, client/server, and web-based time and attendance systems.  His experience is hands-on by working with many organizations to implement the system as well as studying the requirements of hundreds of organizations in almost every type of business.  Mr. Choksi holds a M.B.A. and a B.S.E. in computer engineering from the University of Michigan.

Michael Knister, chief technology officer
As chief technology officer, Mr. Knister is responsible for managing the development and product planning for WorkForce Software’s Time and Attendance software solution.  Mr. Knister’s experience in software planning, development, and technical architecture is extensive.  Mr. Knister has been an independent consultant for a number of high technology companies, specifically in the time and attendance software industry.  Mr. Knister holds a M.S.E. in computer engineering from the University of Michigan.

Kathy Cannon, vice president of product management
An industry veteran with more than 20 years experience, Ms. Cannon is responsible for creating and executing an innovative product plan that meets current and future industry demands. For nearly ten years, Ms. Cannon lead the implementation and product planning teams at WorkForce Software, where she worked with customers on a daily basis and guided them in implementing an effective workforce management solution. In her new role as vice president of product management, Ms. Cannon leads a team that focuses on continuously improving the customer’s experience. Her knowledge and background give her the expertise to develop a relevant product roadmap that will exceed customer expectations. Ms. Cannon holds a MIS degree from Old Dominion University.

Howard Tarnoff, senior vice president of sales and marketing
Howard Tarnoff serves as the company’s senior vice president of sales and marketing. Mr. Tarnoff has more than 20 years of sales, marketing, and business development experience in the Human Capital Management (HCM) industry. Mr. Tarnoff is responsible for growing and mentoring a top-tier sales team, and developing the company’s marketing strategy. An industry veteran, Mr. Tarnoff previously held executive positions at RedPrairie Corporation, Workbrain, Kronos®, and Simplex Time Data Systems. He has a history of building profitable high-growth organizations, and has an ability for evaluating and understanding business needs to make forward-thinking decisions that lead to an organization’s sustainability and success.

Carl Herzog, vice president of business development
As vice president of business development, Mr. Herzog is responsible for leading key initiatives that support the company’s continued growth, as well as identifying new markets, business opportunities and strategic relationships. With over 20 years experience, Mr. Herzog has a proven record of increasing revenue growth through mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures and strategic alliances. Most recently, Mr. Herzog was with Hewitt Associates, a human resource consulting and outsourcing firm, where he held positions for 9 years as a business leader and corporate development executive. He holds a MBA in finance from the University of Chicago.

Bob Gallagher, vice president of marketing
Bob Gallagher serves as the company’s vice president of marketing and business development. Mr. Gallagher has worked in the software industry for 20 years in various roles, including marketing, communications, and systems consulting. Mr. Gallagher has worked for and consulted with many leading software companies, including Arbortext (acquired by PTC), HAHT Commerce (acquired by GXS), Intuit, QAD, Sybase and PC Week magazine (now eWeek). He earned a B.S. in finance from Southern Illinois University.

Ed Bernice, chief financial officer
As chief financial officer, Mr. Bernice is responsible for the strategic and financial business development at WorkForce Software, including all finance, accounting, and legal affairs.  He has 30-plus years experience in finance, administration, and business operations.  Mr. Bernice has a long history with small and large technology organizations, where he has been instrumental in increasing revenue by streamlining processes, and developing and executing profitable mergers, and acquisitions.  Throughout his professional history, he has held executive positions at Halcon SD Group, Inc., Steinman, Texcel International, Memry Corporation, ENSR International Corporation, and Clayton Group Services, Inc.  He holds a M.B.A. in finance from Fordham University in New York and B.S. in electrical engineering from Rutgers University.

Mike Muha, Hosting and Information Systems Manager
Mr. Muha has 20 years experience managing large-scale clusters of servers supporting web-based subscription applications in high-growth environments. Mr. Muha is responsible for EmpCenter Online, WorkForce Software's subscription-based offering. In addition, Mr. Muha manages a team of system administrators responsible for building and maintaining a wide variety of systems for internal operations and customer support. He holds a Ph.D. in sociology from the University of Michigan.
